Geological heritage connecting regions
UNIT-GEOPARKS connects existing geoparks, aspiring regions and partners interested in developing this approach. Led by the Var Department, it combines knowledge sharing, governance and pilot actions for sustainable geological site management and tourism suited to local resources.
A common framework established in the Var
The first committee, held on 25 June 2025, approved operating rules and clarified activities and deliverables. Partners also prepared their initial expenditure reports and JEMS access. This step provides a practical framework for cooperation and exchanging practices.
Corte, January 2026: monitoring implementation
On 27 January 2026, the partnership met at the Regional Natural Park of Corsica to review deadlines, deliverables and budget monitoring. Procurement procedures and the following semester’s activities were prepared. CDInnov supports the Var Department in managing this project, continuing a collaboration across several Interreg programming periods.
